Research period review: 30th edition (2019/2020)

The banking team primarily acted on the side of financial institutions. A standout banking deal saw the firm advise China Development Bank on the financing of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway, the largest ever infrastructure project in Indonesia. Another interesting deal saw the firm act for the lenders in the largest unsecured corporate loan facility in Indonesia in 2019. The firm also notably acted for the lenders on one of the largest Chinese power financings in Indonesia to date.

During the review period, the corporate team was active for buyers and sellers on several noteworthy confidential transactions. A significant oil and gas transaction saw the firm advise an international client on a divestment. A non-confidential mandate saw the firm advise Toll Group on forming a joint venture.

A projects highlight saw the firm advise a consortium on a landmark airport PPP project. A high-profile deal saw the firm act for the contractor on the high-value development of a smelting facility.

Staffing changes saw the firm strengthen its corporate and projects practices with the hire of partner Frédéric Draps from Ginting & Reksodiputro. The firm also added senior counsel Rudy Kusmanto from OVO to its corporate and banking teams.
