Madun Gujadhur Chambers LLP (MGC) is one of the most established commercial sets in Mauritius, renowned for its expertise in financial services, corporate law, and dispute resolution. We regularly advise leading global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Barclays Bank, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, Citi, Morgan Stanley, ICICI, and HDFC.

Our firm is frequently instructed by magic circle law firms such as A&O Sherman, Linklaters, and Clifford Chance, as well as leading international and U.S. law firms, including Baker & McKenzie, Ropes & Gray, Akin Gump, Kirkland & Ellis, and Clyde & Co. Additionally, we collaborate with leading Indian law firms, such as Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB, Nishith Desai Associates, Trilegal, and Luthra & Luthra.

MGC has a strong track record of advising multinational corporations, hedge funds, private equity firms, and investment managers, including Bain Capital and Carlyle. Our firm also regularly works with top Indian private equity firms and fund managers, such as Kotak Mahindra, Tata, and ICICI Ventures.

A key area of our expertise is fund structuring and regulatory advisory work. We are involved in the formation and structuring of numerous Mauritius-based private equity funds and holding companies. As part of this, we frequently provide legal opinions to leading development finance institutions, including CDC, IFC, DEG, and FMO.

On instructions from international law firms, we have advised several promoters and fund managers on establishing their investment vehicles in Mauritius. These vehicles facilitate cross-border investments across India and Africa in key growth sectors such as clean energy, financial services, leisure and hospitality, infrastructure, private education, and healthcare.

Beyond transactional and advisory work, MGC has an exceptionally strong litigation practice. As a predominantly commercial set, we specialise in commercial litigation, corporate disputes, and insolvency matters. Our barristers are frequently engaged in shareholder disputes, enforcement of security, winding-up and insolvency proceedings, and court-sanctioned schemes of arrangement.
