Kaplan & Stratton is a full-service law firm established in 1938. The firm is one of the founding members of LEXAfrica, a network of independent law firms across 26 African countries.  

 

Highlights  

In M&A, the firm is notably active on some large transactions such as acting for Blackrock on its acquisition of a 31.25% stake in Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) though its UK Subsidiary, CFP Holdings Limited. Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) is the largest of its find in Africa making the transaction strategically significant.  

In project development, the firm engaged in some large PPP projects. For instance, the firm assisted the Government of Kenya in regard to the development of a risk mitigation toolkit for the government for the implementation of PPP projects in Kenya focusing on the water, health and transportation sectors.
