Dentons entered Italy in 2015, opening an office in Milan that now has 74 lawyers including 26 partners. It subsequently added an office in Rome that has 27 lawyers, 12 of which are partners.

The firm’s Italian banking team covers all areas of financing and regulatory work and acts for domestic banks and foreign financial institutions on leveraged buyouts and acquisition financings.  

The firm's capital markets practice advises on debt and equity work. In debt it advises SMEs on bond issues on international stock exchanges. In the equity space it acts for issuers on share sales through private placements and listings on the AIM Italia.  

In M&A, the firm often advises mid-sized private equity firms and corporations on cross-border mandates.  

In the projects space, the firm has developed a strong energy practice, experienced in advising investors and energy companies on the development and financing of solar power plants and wind-farm projects.   

The firm's restructuring and insolvency practice acts for a mix of distressed companies and creditors on bankruptcy proceedings, advising on debt and corporate restructuring negotiations and recovery plans.
