Founded in 1997, Choi & Kim is a boutique law firm in South Korea with capabilities of providing legal services in a wide range of areas including maritime and aviation law, insurance law and international trade dispute resolution.

Focusses / specialisms  

The firm has a strong project development practice with a main focus of maritime law and aviation law. The firm regularly assists clients in relation to contractual disputes including cargo claim and charterparty. The firm also advises clients on collision cases domestically and outside Korea. It is worth mentioning that the firm has been involved in the largest auction case in Korean history in 2000, in which approximately $1 billion was at stake.

In the aviation area, the firm handles various kinds of disputes arising from air transportation including representation of air carriers in defence of claims brought by bereaved families in major air crash accidents.

The firm promoted Mr. K.M. Choi to become a new partner as of June 1 2023. He specialises in maritime/shipping, insurance and international disputes.
