Overview:

  • Porto de Sergipe 1.5GW combined-cycle power plant
  • Brazilian electrical company Centrais Eléctricas Sergipe (Celse) has entered an engineering, supply and construction (EPC) contract with General Electric (GE).
  • The EPC will cover about 80% of the project's total costs.
  • The plant will be located near Aracaju, the capital of the northern Brazilian state of Sergipe.
  • Investor Golar Power holds a 49% interest in Celse.
  • The remaining 51% interest is held by EBRASIL.
  • GE was represented by in-house counsel.
  • The plant is expected to begin operating by 2020.
