APS Holding acquisition of Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB) NPL portfolio

• APS Holding has acquired a portfolio of NPLs from Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB).
• The portfolio has a nominal value of €100 million.
• APS is a Czech company that acquires and services bad loans and - following the acquisition - intends to open in Zagreb and hire 40 staff. The company is active across 11 countries across Southern and Eastern Europe.
• In 2016 the company acquired an NPL portfolio from Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Romania for €1.3 billion.
• Opportunities to acquire NPL portfolios in Croatia are increasing, with the Central Bank releasing figures highlighting that local banks sold over €500 million in NPLs in the first nine months of 2016.
