Overview:

  • Samir (Société Marocaine d’Industrie de Raffinage) Morocco's sole oil refinery, is undergoing a Dh45 billion restructuring. 
  • The Moroccan Customs and Indirect Tax Administration seized the assets of the oil company in August 2015 due to unpaid taxes, according to an August 14, 2015 Reuters article.
  • In March 2016, the courts ordered the company into liquidation.  
  • Corral Petroleum Holding holds a 67.27% stake in Samir.
  • Holmarcom is also a shareholder.
