Bakki Silicon Metal Plant

Overview:

• Bakki Silicon Metal Plant.
• PCC BakkiSilicon is developing a greenfield silicon metal production plant at the Bakki industrial park near Húsavík.
• The plant will produce 32,000 metric tons of silicon metal a year.
• The site will consist of two furnaces, a material storage building, a product storage area, a HV switchyard building, workshops and an office building.
• KfW IPEX-Bank is acting as senior lender on the project, which is expected to cost around $300 million.
• Construction started in September 2015.
• SPV Bakkastakkur invested in the project and was advised by Summa rekstrarfélag.
• Legacy Olswang advised Bakkastakkur and Summa rekstrarfélag.
