China General Nuclear Power Europe Energy (CGN EE) has acquired a portfolio of 14 onshore wind farms in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland from Gaelectric Holdings and Lanber Holdings.
The farms have a combined power of 228MW.
The deal represents the first Chinese investment into the Irish energy sector
CGN EE is the European subsidiary of China's state owned nuclear power company and the move is part of its strategy of diversifying its portfolio.
