Overview:

  • French power distribution company Exeltium successfully refinanced €1.435 billion of its senior debt, extending it for 15 years.
  • The refinancing was provided by several financial institutions and multiple institutional investors. 
  • As well as the refinancing of the senior bond the company also refinanced €80 million of the existing €233 million junior debt owed to Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations
  • Natixis acted as mandated lead arranger on the senior debt refinancing, which was done using securitisation instruments. 
  • Deutsche Bank led on the refinancing of the junior debt.
  • Exeltium was assisted on projects aspects by Gide.
  • Linklaters advised the senior lenders- who have not been disclosed.
