Abertis Infraestructuras $1 billion acquisition of 50% of Autopista Central

Overview:

• Abertis Infraestructuras has acquired a 50% stake in Autopista Central from Alberta Investment Management Corporation for $1 billion.
• Autopista Central is a six lane and 61km highway in Santiago.
• As a result of this transaction, Abertis Infraestructuras owns the entire concession which is set to expire in 2031
• Ashurst (Tom Mercer, Nick Rainsford and María José Menéndez) and Claro & Cía (Sebastián Eyzaguirre) advised the acquirer.
• Allen & Overy (Stephen Lloyd) and Carey (Cristián Eyzaguirre) advised the seller. Stikeman Elliott (Leland Corbett and Vince Imerti) acted as Canadian counsel to the seller.
