Kohlberg & Company $394 million acquisition of Bemis Healthcare Packaging/Bemis Healthcare Packaging Ireland/Bemis Elsham

Overview:

• Kohlberg & Company has acquired three Bemis packaging plants in the UK and Ireland from Amcor in a $394 million deal.
• The plants are Bemis Healthcare Packaging, Bemis Healthcare Packaging Ireland and Bemis Elsham.
• The deal is a result of Amcor's €5.8 billion acquisition of Bemis in June 2019. The European Commission required the divestment as part of its conditions for clearing the acquisition.
• The deal will see the plants, part of Amcor's flexible packaging business unit, merged with Nelipak, a portfolio company of Kohlberg.
