Jingtian & Gongcheng has hired a new investment funds partner in Beijing to add to its growing fund formation practice in the city.
James Yong Wang joins the firm from Han Kun where he had previously led the private funds practice.
Speaking to IFLR1000, Wang said: "Jingtian is known for its prowess in private equity, venture capital, M&A and capital markets and my team completes Jingtian's position in the private equity/venture capital value chain. The move to Jingtian will enable us to move several times faster than before."
Wang will be splitting his time between Beijing and Shanghai where his team is located. He has chalked up almost twenty years' experience in investment funds/asset management and PE/VC investment and financing. He has extensive knowledge of both renminbi and US dollar funds and the domestic and overseas legal markets having previously worked at Kirkland & Ellis, Clifford Chance and Greenberg Traurig before before joining Han Kun in October 2010.
Jingtiang & Gongcheng is firmly in growth mode and this latest development represents another strategic move on the back of its recent expansion in Hong Kong where it tied up with ex-Mayer Brown JSM lawyers late last year.
