Two of Latvia's leading firms - Klavins Ellex and Glimstedt - have announced they are to merge their operations.

If the merger goes ahead as planned on 1 February it will create the largest law firm in Latvia, with a combined total of 47 lawyers, which will trade under the Klavins Ellex brand.

The merger would be just the latest installment in a series of major market moves in the Baltic states that has completely redrawn the legal markets in all three countries. In 2016 this included the creation of a new pan-Baltic firm and several other splits and mergers througout the region.
