Miruna Suciu and Luminiţa Popa, two IFLR1000 Leading lawyers, have left Muşat & Asociaţii to form new firm Suciu Popa Attorneys in Bucharest.

Suciu handles finance, capital markets and project development work, while Popa acts on energy, PPPs (public-private partnerships) and disputes.

The new firm will consist initially of 20 lawyers and also includes Madalina Berechet, Cleopatra Leahu and Dan Ciobanu.

While at her former firm Suciu most recently acted for Swiss Capital and Carpatica Invest as part of a consortium on matters related to the IPO of Romanian airline Tarom. She also advised Banca Transilvania on a convertible bond issue listed on the Bucharest exchange.

A client speaking to IFLR1000 described her as “very high quality, clear advice, extremely responsive and very knowledgeable about local practice”. While another client described Suciu as “reliable, serious and well prepared”.
