King & Wood Mallesons is set to strengthen its global presence in Singapore. The firm has been granted a foreign law practice licence by the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
The firm’s Singapore practice will focus on international funds, energy and resources, and China inbound and outbound work. It will support its Singapore-based clients in their outbound investments and continue working in cross-border and domestic matters in South East Asia.
Stuart Fuller, the firm’s global managing partner said: "Singapore is a key market for our clients given its role as financial and trading hub and a gateway for investments around South East Asia, North Asia and India. Our expansion into these markets through our office in Singapore is the logical next step for the firm."
The firm is experienced in private equity, funds, real estate, infrastructure, oil and gas, technology, media and telecommunications. It is expected to open in two or three months after fulfilling regulatory requirements.
