Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills (HSF) has formed a local alliance with Singaporean law firm Prolegis after gaining approval from Singapore’s Attorney General, Vijaya Kumar Rajah.

Alastair Henderson, Herbert Smith Freehill’s South East Asia managing partner, said: “Herbert Smith Freehills' heritage in Singapore stretches back over 30 years, and this alliance marks the next stage of growth for both our practices.”

The two firms started building a relationship in November last year to enable clients to access either international or local legal advice through a network, and the firms are now located in adjoining offices within Herbert Smith Freehills' existing premises in Singapore.

Prolegis was founded in 2012 by Ban Leong Oo as a Singapore boutique firm focused on corporate and commercial issues. The alliance allows the firm to access HSF’s network of over 20 offices worldwide.
