Japanese firm Anderson Mōri & Tomotsune has opened a new office in Vietnam and a new desk in Indonesia.

The two new outfits were launched in May with the Vietnam office located in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and the Jarkata desk located in the office of its Indonesian relation firm, Roosdiono & Partners. The Vietnam office also has assistance from local firms including VILAF.

The new outfits combine the firm’s Japanese language capabilities with local knowledge, and the expansion plan aims at serving Japanese companies, Japanese-affiliated companies and other foreign affiliated companies who wish to establish or expand their business presence in Vietnam and Indonesia.

The HCMC office is focused on providing local corporate, labour, employment and other compliance law advice. The Jakarta desk is geared towards M&A, joint ventures, financial transactions, obtaining of licenses and permits, negotiations with authorities, and dispute resolution, compliance and labour affairs.

Overseeing the HCMC office is partner Yasufumi Miki who, since 2012, has been seconded to VILAF. Takahiro Ikeda is the representative attorney at the Jakarta Desk, coordinating with other Anderson Mōri offices and cooperating with Roosdiono & Partners.
