Saptak has worked on some of the most high-profile transactions in Asia.  He routinely represents major financial institutions, private equity and infrastructure funds, developers, governments and multinational corporations, such as Berkshire Hathaway Energy, First Reserve Corporation, Carlyle Investment Management, Mizuho Bank, TPG Capital, Société Générale, Coface, Siemens AG, Vietnam Airlines, the Government of Laos, Chevron, TNK-BP, UBS and the Pacific Century Group.

  • Advised Kimberly-Clark Corporation on its acquisition of Softex Indonesia, a leader in the fast-growing Indonesian personal care market, in an all-cash transaction for approximately US$1.2 billion from a group of shareholders including CVC Capital Partners Asia Pacific IV. 
  • Advised Berkshire Hathaway Energy in relation to both its direct acquisition and purchase as a tax equity investor of a series of solar and wind projects totalling over 4GW of generating capacity throughout the United States.
  • Advised Toyota Motor Corporation on its US$1 billion investment in Grab Holdings Inc., provider of ride-hailing, ride-sharing and logistics services in Southeast Asia.
  • Advised the Government of Laos on the acquisition and financing of a range of renewable and non-renewable energy projects in Laos. 
  • Advised GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong listed company, on the US$150 million acquisition, via bankruptcy, of the Solar Materials division of SunEdison Inc., a U.S. renewable-energy company, which manufactures and develops solar panels and solar components.
