Michael is a Partner at Lennox Paton and head of the Corporate & Commercial, Investment Funds and Banking and Securities Groups, he also has specialist experience with wealth management structures.  Ranked Band 1 in both Chambers Global and the Chambers High-Net-Worth Guide, he is considered one of the top lawyers in The Bahamas.  Michael is former chairman of the Bahamas Financial Services Board, current deputy chairman of the Securities Commission of the Bahamas, a member of the government Tax Steering Committee and a qualified Certified Public Accountant (non-practising) in the USA.

  • Advised Frontera Energy Corporation in its issuance of unsecured notes in the amount of US$ 350 million at a coupon rate of 9.70% and maturity in 2023. The transaction involved Frontera Energy Corporation’s subsidiaries in The Bahamas.
  • Acted as Bahamian counsel to the IIC with respect to the loan to Caribbean Bottling Company (CBC) to fund the installation of a rooftop solar PV system at CBC's main bottling factory in Nassau, Bahamas.  At the time, the PV system was one of the first and the largest solar PV installations in The Bahamas.
