Mr. Liu is a partner at Haiwen & Partners. Mr. Liu has worked as a full time licensed lawyer for over 20 years and has been widely regarded by the clients and in the legal service industry. His practice focuses on securities offering and listing, merger and acquisition, private equity investment and general corporate matters.
Mr. Liu joined Haiwen in 1997 and became a partner in 2002. Before joining Haiwen, Mr. Liu worked at the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of the PRC from 1995 to 1997. After joining Haiwen, he was ever sent to Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a US law firm, and worked at its Hong Kong office for half a year in 2001.
For many years, Mr. Liu has been on the lists of lawyers recommended by various legal professional journals such as IFLR1000, Chambers Global/Asia Pacific, Asia Leading Lawyers and Legal500. The recognitions he obtained in recent three years includes: IFLR1000-"Highly Regarded" in the fields of Capital Market and M&A, Chambers-"Eminent Practitioner" in the fields of Capital Markets (Debt & Equity), and Asia Leading Lawyers-"Leading Lawyer" in the fields of Capital Markets, Banking & Finance and Corporate/M&A.
In the area of securities transactions, Mr. Liu has long-term and comprehensive professional experience, extensively serves issuers, sponsors, underwriters and investors at home and abroad, and maintains long-term cooperation with well-known domestic and international investment banks and securities companies. Mr. Liu also participated in and advised on various listed-company-involved material restructuring and strategic investment transactions, as well as a number of private equity investment and acquisition transactions in education, media, Internet, telecommunications, energy and resource, financial industries.
Mr. Liu received his LL.B. degree and his LL.M. degree from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing in 1992 and 1995, respectively.
