Mr Gao is a Partner of Haiwen & Partners, resident in the Beijing office. Mr. Gao's practice focuses on securities offering, merger & acquisition and general corporate matters.

Mr. Gao joined Haiwen in 2002 and became a partner in 2011.

Since 2018, Mr. Gao has been recognised by Chambers Asia Pacific Guide and Chambers Global Guide as a Leading Lawyer in Capital Markets. In 2021, Mr. Gao was highly ranked as a " Highly regarded" lawyer by International Financial Law Review (IFLR) for the area of Capital Markets.

In the area of capital markets transactions, Mr. Gao has represented both issuers and underwriters in numerous equity and bond offerings on the SSE, the SZSE and the HKSE. Representative transactions include the A share IPO of a company engaged in China Mobile Limited, CICC, Huaneng Lancang River Hydropower, HitGen Inc., QingCloud Technologies, CNOOC Energy Technology & Services,Westen Securities, Ningbo Bank, Huadian Power, etc.; the H share IPO of a company engaged in CICC, ZGC Science-Tech Leasing, China Building Materials, Air China, PICC, ASMC, etc.; the follow on equity offering by Easyhome, Tangshan Jidong Cement, GigaDevice, Sinopec SSC, Huadian Power, etc.; the restructuring of large and medium-sized enterprises, such as Sinopec Marketing Co., Ltd, China Postal Express & Logistics Company Limited, etc.

In the area of M&A transactions, Mr. Gao's recent experience includes advising: Easyhome (000785.SZ) in connection with its back door listing on SZSE; Wangfujing(600859.SH)in connection with its merge with Beijing Capital Retailing Group (600723.SH); CICC (as financial adviser) in connection with the merger between CSR Corporation Limited (601766.SH, 01766.HK) and China CNR Corporation Limited (601299.SH, 06199.HK); Easyhome in connection with its private placement of RMB13 billion in shares to 21 investors; Tangshan Jidong Cement (000401.SZ)in connection with its major asset restructuring of its setting up JV With BBMG Corp; CICC in connection with its acquisition of 100% equity interest in China Investment Securities Company Limited; Besttone Holding (600640.SH) in connection with its substantial acquisition of China Telecom's media & entertainment assets for approximately RMB 4 billion; CICC (as financial adviser) in connection with the substantial acquisition of China Minmetals Corporation's financial assets for approximately RMB 18.5 billion by Kingray New Materials (600390.SH); Sinopec Marketing Co., Ltd. in connection with its private placement of RMB100 billion in shares to 25 investors; China Telecom in connection with its sale of transmission tower assets to China Tower for approximately RMB 34 billion; Sinopec SSC (600871.SH, 01033.HK) in connection with its major asset restructuring; China Meheco (600056.SH) in connection with its merge with Topfond Pharmaceutical (600253.SH) , etc.
