International bond offerings of the Republic of Panama
Acted as counsel to underwriters in most international bond offerings of the Republic of Panama, since the Brady exchange program in 1996. Most recently:

  •  Advising Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in the new Global Bond offering by the Republic of Panama with maturity in 2050 for an amount of US$1.2 billion

Public and private infrastructure projects 

  • Advising Acciona Construcción, S.A. in a US$240 million infrastructure project to expand the Pan-American Highway connecting with the Bridge of the Americas 
  • Advising the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) in financing the phase 1 of the beach highway project (Corredor de las Playas), in the order of US$450 million.
  • Advising Empresa Nacional de Autopista - ENA (National Highway Company) liability management transaction
  • Advising the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) in a loan agreement for US$70 million to finance the Phase I of the new Gorgas Commemorative Institute of Health Studies (ICGES)
  • Advising UBS in challenging financing structure for Panama City’s second metro line
  • Citigroup Global Markets in the second and third Tocumen Airport debt bond issuances
  • Advising Bank of Nova Scotia in US$100 million financing for the construction of Panama's new convention center by CCA-COCIGE Consortium

 Energy finance 

  • Advising Banco BAC Credomatic and Banco Nacional de Panamá in an additional TUA loan agreement to finance Costa Norte LNG Terminal, the single largest natural gas powered generation facility complex to be built in Panama
  • Advising Citigroup in US$400 million finance for ETESA for the 3rd energy transmission line. The firm is already advising clients participating in the prequalification process for the tender of the 4th transmission line
