Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes is pleased to announce that two new partners leading a team of experts in the tax controversy, consulting and litigation practice have joined the Firm, e¬ffective as of May 1st, 2020.
Enrique Ramírez Figueroa and Nora Morales Rodríguez are joining the Firm as partners in our Tax practice. Previously, Enrique and Nora were partners in di¬erent local and international rms, such as EY Mexico and Chevez, Ruiz, Zamarripa, S.C.
In this manner, Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes will be made up of 19 partners, four of counsel and more than one hundred professionals, while the Tax practice that Manuel Tamez has led for more than fteen years will now have 3 partners and 11 professionals.

Enrique Ramírez Partner
Enrique has more than thirty years’ experience as a tax lawyer, focusing on consulting, controversy and litigation. He has represented the largest companies in Mexico in negotiating settlements and solving all types of disputes with the tax authorities, both in and outside court. He has also advised clients in procedures involving some of the largest tax settlements issued in Mexico.
Enrique graduated from the Universidad Panamericana, and has been recognized as a leader in his eld and as one of the top tax practitioners by Latin Lawyer, International Tax Review and Chambers & Partners. In addition, he is the President of the Mexico’s Chapter in the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and acted as President of the Committee of Tax Studies of the Mexican Institute of Financial Executives (IMEF) from 2009 to 2011. He has been a lecturer at several professional forums such as the Judicial TV Channel of the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice (SCJN), the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the Mexican Bar Association-College of Attorneys at Law, and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Nora Morales Partner
Nora has over twenty years’ experience in disputes and tax litigation focusing on transfer pricing, international treaty bene ts and the energy sector. She has been a legal-tax advisor to companies in di¬erent sectors such as energy, automotive and consumer products, among others.
Nora graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and has a Master´s Degree in Tax Law from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. She has been recognized as a leading tax practitioner by publications such as Chambers & Partners (where is the only woman considered in the tax dispute category), Legal 500, International Tax Review and Who's Who Legal. In addition, she actively participates in several chambers and associations such as the Tax Commission of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), the Precedents and Legislation Committees and the BEPS Initiatives Committee of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) Mexico’s Chapter, the Tax Law Committee of the Mexican Bar Association, the National Technical Committee of Tax Studies of the Mexican Institute of Financial Executives (IMEF), of which she was President, and she is a member of the Tax Committee of the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of Mexico (CONCAMIN).
