DLA Piper has hired a new private equity head in Sydney to expand its Australian corporate M&A practice.
Grant Koch joins the firm from Allen & Overy where he also headed up the firm’s private equity practice.
John Weber, Australian managing partner at DLA Piper said: “Grant's appointment is part of our strategy to significantly grow our corporate practice in Australia, building on the appointments of Bryan Pointon and David Ryan in 2013.”
Acting for private equity houses across Australia, Asia-Pacific and UK, Koch is an expert in private equity, capital management and venture capital transactions. He is qualified in Australia and the UK, having worked in London for a number of years before relocating to Sydney to work at Clayton Utz.
DLA Piper has been rebuilding in Asia-Pacific this year and has already hired in the region’s money centres. Corporate partner Melody He-Chen joined in Hong Kong, while partners John Viverito, Joe Bauerschmidt and Myles Hankin arrived in Singapore.
