Belarusian firms Borovtsov & Salei and Jurznak have merged.

The combined entity will operate under Borovtsov & Saleii's brand and will be located in Minsk. The addition of Jurznak’s team expands the firm’s headcount by 13 lawyers, including managing partner and founder, Maxim Znak.

Borovtsov & Salei is among the oldest firms in Belarus’ relatively young legal market, having been founded in 1994 only a few years after the country gained independence. Corporate and commercial work is the firm’s strength.

Comparatively, Jurznak – launched in 2007 – was still in its nascence. But the firm was well regarded on the domestic market, where it was generally known as an ambitious team of hard-working lawyers, mostly active in litigation, commercial contracts and labour law.

The merger is the second time two Belarusian firms have combined in 2015. Sysouev Bondar Khrapoutski (SBH) became the largest law firm based in Belarus when it merged with Archer Legal earlier this year.
