Sidley Austin has hired attorney Kenneth Baronsky to its private equity practice in Los Angeles.
Baronsky focuses on M&A and securities transactions in sectors such as gaming, technology, telecommunications and healthcare.
He had previously been with Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, where he was managing partner of the firm's Los Angeles office.
"At this point, I was drawn to Sidley by the resources and the people and how I was going to best serve my clients," Baronsky said about the move, continuing that, "One of the real strengths of Sidley - and I’ve seen it already - is the integration of the firm. Bringing in these separate offices that have very strong practices that are highly integrated is really the right way to build strength in an area like private equity, where you have to be sharing a lot of knowledge and staying current with the market."
Asked about Sidley's continued expansion of private equity capabilities in Los Angeles, Baronsky responded that, "I think it’s smart. There’s a market here for firms that practice at the highest level on PE transactions and that is the end of the market on which Sidley is focused and has great capability."
Baronsky is recognised as a 'Notable practitioner' by IFLR1000.
