DBP Advokati, a new Serbian firm has been formed by name partners Vladimir Bojanovic and Slobodan Doklestić.
Bojanovic, a former M&A partner at Jankovic Popovic & Mitic, and Doklestić, a former employment and M&A partner at Karanovic & Nikolic, have been joined in the start up by 13 fee-earners from leading Serbian firms.
The firm was established to address a gap in the Serbian legal market. “When you think about Hengeler Mueller in Germany or Slaughter and May in UK, we would like to position ourselves in the Serbian market in a similar manner,” founding partner Bojanovic explains to IFLR1000. “You will find law firms which have lots of lawyers in the Serbian market; you will find law firms that have considerable turnover or respectable mandates; but you will not find law firms which consist of 80% senior lawyers capable of providing high quality sophisticated legal services. Our team is based on that.”
DBP’s strategy is to focus on quality - looking to expand its turnover and client base - and it doesn’t have any plans for growth in the number of personnel. It aims to be a full service firm, and In line with legal market trends it will cover the markets of Montenegro, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina from its headquarters in Belgrade.
