The second edition of IFLR1000 United States is now available to view online.
IFLR1000 United States ranks US attorneys and law firms at the state level in all 50 states and DC. The 2019 edition features more than 240 firm editorial profiles, 100 practice area ranking tables and 450 rated lawyer profiles.
Although this is only the second edition of the IFLR1000 United States, the IFLR1000 has been producing legal market intelligence for almost 30 years and this guide leverages on that research experience.
Our rankings are based primarily on transactional evidence but also take into account client and peer feedback (where supported by deal evidence).
During the research process our team conducted interviews with, and studied the deal case studies of, hundreds of law firms across the United States to help determine the rankings.
Our research team visited states including Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, North Carolina and Pennsylvania to meet with partners and conduct face-to-face interviews.
We also surveyed client referees of law firms to get feedback on their experiences.
We have expanded the ranking categories for the United States guide beyond the IFLR1000’s core practice areas of banking, capital markets, M&A and restructuring and insolvency. In a first for the IFLR1000, we have ranked real estate practices.
Real estate was a logical addition to the United States’ guides ranking categories. The real estate sector is a crucial source of work in states large and small and firms often have dedicated specialists or teams focusing on this work.
We have also compiled a list of the top attorneys in the country, ranked as either Highly Regarded or Rising Star. The former designation is reserved for more senior attorneys, while the latter only applies to newer industry faces. All lawyers have track records of working on significant deals and receive positive feedback.
The lawyer rankings include attorneys who are ranked at only state level and individuals ranked at both state and national level.
