First State Investments/NDI Autostrada €146.9 million acquisition of 29.69% of Gdańsk Transport Company

Overview:

• First State Investments has acquired a 29.69% stake in Gdańsk Transport Company (GTC) from John Laing Infrastructure.
• The stake was subsequently acquired by NDI Autostrada via the exercising of its pre-emption rights.
• GTC is the SPV that developed and operates the northern section of the A1 motorway in Poland.
• At the same time, fellow GTC shareholder Skanska also sold its stake in the SPV.
• First State is an Australian fund manager.
• The A1 motorway runs from Gdańsk to Torun in the north of Poland.
