Overview:

  • Girardot-Honda-Puerto Salgar highway PPP.
  • The consortium awarded the concession to build the Girardot-Honda-Puerto Salgar highway, Alto Magdalena, has obtained more than $372 million in financing for the fourth-generation (4G) Girardot-Honda-Puerto Salgar highway.
  • The financing was multi-currency, with $136 million coming in the form of US dollars.
  • The lenders were the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, Banco de Bogotá, Banco de Occidente, Banco Popular and Banco AV Villas.
  • Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional (FDN) provided a line of liquidity to Alto Magdalena.
  • Goldman Sachs was lead arranger.
  • One of the companies that make up the concession is Constuctora Meco, which is based in Costa Rica.
  • The highway is one of several being devleoped under Colombia's 'Highways for Prosperity' infrastructure plan.
