Mr. Creel’s practice is centered in M&A and Finance. He represents public and private companies on corporate governance, joint ventures and strategic alliances, as well as private equity funds. He has substantial experience in corporate and structured finance. He obtained a JD (1984) and worked at Shearman & Sterling (1985-1986). He became partner of Creel Abogados in 1989, was its Managing Partner (1999-2007) and Senior Partner since 2008. He is professor of Corporate Governance (LLM Program) at UP.

  • Advised ONCAP in the US$111 million acquisition of Precision Global, including its Mexican subsidiary.
  • Advised SEEK Ltd in the acquisition of 30% of the capital stock of UTEL, Mexican leader in online university education services.
  • Advised Cummins, Inc. in the creation of a global joint venture with Eaton to form the Eaton Cummins Automated Transmission Technologies.
  • Advised Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH in the Mexican portion of the business swap of its consumer health business with the animal health business of Sanofi.
  • Advised Montagu Private Equity in the acquisition of Aqua Lung Group, including its Mexican subsidiary, and in the related €119.5 million syndicated acquisition financing.
  • Advised The Capital Partnership in the acquisition of Northgate Capital, including its Mexican subsidiary
