Overview:

  • Japan Nuclear Fuel is set to acquire a 5% equity stake in New Areva Holding for €250 million.
  • Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has agreed to invest in the company with an equal sum. 
  • The French state will also subscribe to a reserved share capital increase of €2.5 billion.
  • The transactions are a part of New Areva Holding’s restructuring plan.
  • New Areva Holding is a subsidiary of Areva and encompasses all assets relating to Areva’s nuclear fuel cycle activities. 
  • The deal is expected to close by the end of 2017 or early 2018.
