Overview:

  • US conglomerate Cargill completed its €1.35 billion acquisition of Norwegian feed provider for farmed fish EWOS from private equity firms Altor Equity and Bain Capital were the sellers.
  • EWOS also has operations in Chile, Canada, Scotland and Vietnam and the deal adds more than 1,000 employees to Cargill. This includes three manufacturing facilities in Norway and one each in the other countries it operates in, in addition to R&D facilities in Norway and Chile.
  • The deal was first announced in August, 2015.
