EDP-Energias de Portugal/EDP Finance €2 billion refinancing

Overview:

• EDP-Energias de Portugal and EDP Finance have entered into a €2 billion term loan and revolving credit agreement with a syndicate of 16 lenders.
• The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ acted as documentation agent, while BNP Paribas acted as agent for the deal.
• The proceeds of the new facilities will be used to repay and cancel the existing €1.6 billion term loan entered into by the EDP in January 2013.
• In addition to a new term loan, the facilities incorporated a revolving credit facility, each with an extended 5-year maturity date.
