Overview:

  • Bozoi gas storage facility.
  • The Bozoi underground gas storage expansion aims to enhance the security of natural gas supplies to the southern region of Kazakhstan to smooth out the peaks in  gas consumption of local clients experiencing power deficit during the winter and improve the load profile of the gas transmission system operated by the Company.
  • ICA, a Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Welfare Fund owned by KazTransGas, is a designated operator of Kazakhstan's natural gas transmission system.
  • The EBRD intends to provide a multi-currency loan of up to KT96 billion ($288 million) to Integas Central Asia (ICA), the national operator of gas transmission pipelines in Kazakhstan.
  • The proceeds would be used to support the capital expenditures programme, including the expansion of Bozoi underground gas storage facility and to assist ICA to optimise its balance sheet through replacing existing hard currency-denominated liabilities with local currency funding.
