- Project company Star Pumped Storage (SPS) is developing a hydroelectric pumped-storage power plant in Kochav Hayarden in Israel after being awarded the project's NIS1.7 billion EPC contract.
- The project comprises the building of two reservoirs of three meters squared each and the installation of turbines for both areas.
- The projects's sponsors, which all have a share in SPS, are Tahal Water Planning for Israel, Hutchinson Water International Holding, and Triple R Energy.
- Bank Hapoalim and Bank Leumi are providing financing for the project.
- SPS has signed a agreement with a consortium of Sinohydro Corporation and Alstom Hydro France to construct the power plant.
- GE Renewable has secured the 18 year operating and maintenance agreement attached to the project.
- Construction is expected to take 52 months, accoidng to the sponsors.
