Kimpese $230 million cement plant project

Overview:

• PPC has signed a deal with the Democratic Republic of Congo's Barnet Group to build a $230 million greenfield cement plant.
• The project will involve building a plant and an associated quarry near Kimpese in western Democratic Republic of Congo, which will have a 3000 tons per day clinker. 
• Financing amounting to $168 million has been made available by IFC and Burundi based PTA Bank (Eastern and Southern African Trade).
