Actis/Ostro Energy $230 million renewable energy investment

Overview:

• Private equity fund Actis has invested $230 million into India's renewable energy sector through its Ostro Energy platform.
• Ostro Energy is the fifth energy platform created by Actis following Globeleq Meso America in Central America, Zuma Energia in Mexico, Aela Energia in Chile and Atlantic Renovaveis in Brazil.
• The first investment project will be a 50.4MW wind power project in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.
• Clifford Chance advised Axis alongside Trilegal (Harsh Pais, Clarence Anthony, Karun Prakash) as India counsel.
