Overview:

  • US based fund Global Infrastructure Partners has announced the €3.4 billion acquisition of a 20% stake in Gas Natural Fenosa, the Spanish utility.
  • The fund is purchasing the shares at €19 a share from Spanish bank Caixabank's holding company Criteria Caixa and energy company Repsol. 
  • Criteria and Repsol will both remain shareholders of the utility following the sale.
