Tirana-Elbasan Highway

Overview:

• The Tirana-Elbasan Highway is a 16 kilometers four-lane highway connecting the city of Tirana with Elbasan in the shortest possible distance.
• The financing was largely provided by Islamic Development Bank. Arab financial institutions such as the Saudi Fund for Development, the Abu Dhabi fund and the OPEC fund also provided financing for the development of the highway.
• The construction of the highway was completed in 2019.
