Kosova e Re 500MW power plant

Overview:

• Kosovo e Re is a 500MW coal fired power plant to be built in Prishtina, Kosovo.
• In 2017, Kosovo awarded the development contract to UK listed power generation company ContourGlobal.
• In 2019, General Electric companies was selected as the preferred bidder for the EPC and maintenance contract.
• The project will be financed through 30% equity and 70% debt.
• Under the concession agreement, ContourGlobal will undertake the project on a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) basis and transfer the ownership of the plant to the Government of Kosovo after 20 years of operation.
