• Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6 Fibre (MEIF 6 Fibre) has made a £627 million bid for UK telecoms firm KCOM Group.
• KCOM is a telecoms firm providing services in Hull, East Yorkshire. It was founded in 1899 as Hull Municipal Corporation's telecoms department. It provides network and cloud based telecoms services and has an extensive full-fibre network.
• According to Reuters, the deal saw Macquarie beat a rival bid from a UK pension fund. MEIF offered 120.3p per KCOM share in the final day of the five-day auction, while USSL bid 113p.
