Scion Student Communities $1.1 billion acquisition of US student housing portfolio

Overview:

• Scion Student Communities has acquired a US student housing portfolio for $1.1 billion.
• The acquired assets consist of 24 properties in 20 university campus markets.
• 22 of the properties were sold by Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, while the other two were acquired from Scion-affiliated groups. 
• Scion Student Communities is a joint venture between Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, GIC and the Scion Group.
