Iran Air acquisition of 114 Airbus jets

Overview:

• Iran has ordered 114 passenger airplanes from Toulouse-based manufacturer Airbus for its national carrier Iran Air.
• The value of the transaction has not been disclosed but if the aircraft were sold at list price it would be around $25 billion.
• Economic sanctions, lifted on Iran last month, had banned the country and its carriers from purchasing new aircraft.
