Overview:

  • Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JCC) has acquired a 24.9% stake in Thailand’s second largest cement maker Siam City Cement for $615 million (S$842 million). 
  • JCC had also undertaken a $772 million rights issue; the proceeds of which were used for the acquisition.
  • This was one of the largest rights issue in Singapore for 2015.
