LG Chem W515 billion acquisition of Farm Hannong 

Overview:

• LG Chem has acquired Dongbu Farm Hannong—the largest pesticide and fertilizer producer in South Korea—for W515 billion ($453 million).
• LG Chem aims to expand its business from basic materials (petrochemical), information-electronic materials and secondary batteries to the agricultural chemistry industry.
• The worldwide agricultural chemistry sector is expected to expand from $100 billion to over $140 billion in 2020.
