Overview:

  • IMM Private Equity has acquired 71.5% of Taihan Electric Wire for W300 billion ($263 million).
  • Taihan Electric Wire is Korea’s second largest manufacturer of electric wire and cable products.  
  • The target company had undergone financial difficulties for many years and a group of its creditors became the controlling shareholders of the target via a debt-to-equity swap.  
  • These institutions attempted a sale of its controlling shares since 2014 which eventually failed due to the financial unsoundness of the target.
