Overview:

  • Green Earth Power (GEP)—a Thailand-based solar plant operator—has received $48 million in the first phase of refinancing its 220MW solar power plant in Minbu, Myanmar.
  • The plant is under construction with financial close imminent, and it will be one of the largest solar power plants in South East Asia. 
  • Krung Thai Bank and Export-Import Bank of Thailand are the financiers of the first phase of the financing.
  • In 2014 GEP signed the agreement with the Ministry of Electric Power to develop the solar power plant.
